Ambiente Sedona: Where Luxury Meets the Landscape

Disclosure: Matt and I were invited as guests by Ambiente, a Landscape Hotel in Sedona, Arizona. As always, all opinions are my own.

Ambiente Sedona, North America’s first landscape hotel, is a mind-blowingly beautiful and one-of-a-kind hotel. Its dramatic landscape is especially stunning during sunrise and sunset when the sun shines bright on the red rocks and creates a striking contrast against the blue sky.

From the moment you get out of your car and the personal valet takes care of your car and luggage, the iconic Sedona Red Rocks and the view from the lobby, takes your breath away!

As soon as Matt and I walked into this beautiful lobby, we were greeted by refreshing bubbly champagne and the kindest and most welcoming staff!

From the front desk to the concierge, they took their time to explain every little detail about this stunning brand-new hotel with 40 cube-shaped guest atriums with unreal red rock views.

In this post, I want to walk you through the entire property. From the coolest glass-enclosed rooms to the beautiful natural landscape and surrounding environment, the night sky, the relaxing pool, hot tub, spa, dining and so much more!

Ambiente Sedona| A Landscape Hotel

On Feb 1st, 2023, Ambiente, A Landscape Hotel, opened its doors to its guests. For those of you who may not know, Ambiente, is a family-operated hotel, Father (Michael), and his two daughters Jennifer May and Colleen TeBrake (Two Sister Bosses).

Since we had a family-operated business for almost 13 years, I know exactly what it takes to run a family business! A lot of hard work, sacrifices, endless problems to solve, and things to do! Therefore, when I find a family-owned business that is being managed and run so nicely, I love it and try my best to support it.

The resort blends modern architecture with the natural beauty of Sedona’s surroundings. Each structure of the hotel is designed to harmonize with the landscape, creating breathtaking views of the red rocks from nearly every corner. The blend of luxury, nature, and warm hospitality makes this hotel an unforgettable, unique experience.

The Unique and Modern Architecture

The Ambiente Hotel in Sedona, AZ, is a perfect example of how architecture can both be cutting-edge and harmoniously blend with nature. Ambiente has quickly become an architectural icon for its STUNNING and innovative design approach.

Our concierge explained to us that, the vision behind Ambiente was not just to create a luxury hotel, but to create an experience that complements and highlights the breathtaking beauty of its surroundings.

Rather than constructing traditional horizontal buildings, the architects took a unique approach. The individual suites are designed as “atrium-style” structures that elevate above the ground, for the minimal impact on the natural environment.

With the selection of materials, unique wall scenes, earth-toned textiles, individual atrium, and its breathtaking spiral staircase, all together, create a unique architecture that blends so well with the landscape!

Ambiente Sedona’s Luxury Suites

Floor-to-Ceiling Windows

I honestly think the rooms at the Ambiente Hotel are one of the BIGGEST highlights of this lovely property! We did not even want to leave our room (LOL)!!!

As soon as we walked into our room, we were simply awestruck by the views! The strikingly beautiful luxury rooms are designed to connect its guests with the best views of Sedona and mother nature!

Each room at Ambiente has floor-to-ceiling windows, which allows you to enjoy the breathtaking beauty of Sedona’s red rock, inside your room. The windows are double-glazed to provide incredible insulation while blocking noise.

Although all rooms offer a beautiful view of the red rocks of Sedona, some rooms have even more striking views than others.

Those rooms truly will turn the outdoors into a gallery of breathtaking artistry. There are different levels of rooms and views.

Your view depends on which room you book. Some of the rooms are almost double the price than others, keep that in mind when you are booking your room.

Shower + Bathtub

One of our favorite parts of the room was the bathtub and double-head shower! The bathtub by itself made me feel so relaxed! LOL! It gives you a total spa-like feeling and ambiance.

Make sure to put some time aside to enjoy a nice bath (maybe with some wine and champagne), before bedtime or during the day!

Egyptian Cotton Bed Linen

The king bed in the room is SO comfy and its luxury Egyptian cotton bed linen, helps you sleep so well- all night long!

My other favorite part about their room was “waking up” to the most breathtaking views of the red rocks through the giant bronze-tinted glass! That experience alone is something out of this world!

Luxurious Amenities

The rooms offer many luxurious amenities. The “tech amenities” are simply awesome in these rooms! Smart room controls, manage everything from lighting and temperature to the window shades, blending so nicely with the decor! We also loved the custom screening wall and the ceiling-mounted flat-screen TV.

Gourmet Snacks + Refreshments

Another thoughtful touch in each room is offering complimentary refreshments and gourmet snacks! If you get hungry in the middle of the night, or early morning, you can snack on some of these delicious treats in the room.

A Glance at the World-Class, Velvet Spa

The Velvet Spa is so beautiful, calm, and peaceful! I did not expect anything but “perfect”, from this luxurious three-room spa in the heart of Sedona. As soon as you enter the Velvet Spa, you are greeted with a sophisticated and calm ambiance!

I fell in love with this spa from the moment, I stepped on the beautiful staircase! Everything from the earthy tone colors to soft lighting, and a gentle scent of essential oils. Everything was perfect for the most extraordinary spa experience.

Massage, Facial and More

One of the highlights of Velvet Spa is the range of massage therapies they offer. My therapist was incredible and pampered me with a 90-minute “Relax- Classic” massage.

My massage was so heavenly that I can’t even describe it! It truly relaxed every single muscle in my body! I highly recommend it, if you are looking for a great overall body massage.

They also offer the “Deep-Release” massage as well as the “Ancient Salt Stone” massage. Each of these incredible treatments helps soothe tired muscles.

They are all designed to give you new energy and strength (both to your body and spirit). They also offer an incredible couple massage (Couples Rituals).

The spa also has an exceptional team of aestheticians who provide a wide range of skincare treatments. The Restore (Athletic Detox), Re-energize (Babymoon Delight), and Refresh (Adventurist Ritual).

Along with these treatments, they also offer other wonderful treatments such as Anti-Aging Facials, Hydrating Facials, and so much more… each aiming to leave your skin feeling fresh, clean, and glowing.

Full Spa Packages

Beyond individual treatments, Velvet Spa also offers full spa packages for those looking for a full day of relaxation. These packages offer a combination of massages, facials, body treatments, and a healthy spa lunch, providing an incredible escape for rejuvenation.

Meditation + Yoga Classes

Their trained staff offers guided meditation sessions and yoga classes, with special Sunrise Yoga at their outdoor deck while enjoying the views of the Sedona sunrise.

Velvet Spa further provides salon services including hair styling, nail care, and professional makeup application. They truly offer whatever you have in mind!

Relaxing Outdoor Pool & Poolside Restaurant

If you are done relaxing in your room or on the rooftop, you could probably spend an entire day at the pool, just soaking up Arizona sunshine.

Also, after a full or half day of chilling at the pool, you can even take a little nap on one of the comfy loungers.

It is so relaxing as you are surrounded by the famous Sedona red rocks. This pool is heated, so it’s perfect for swimming after dinner, ordering drinks, and enjoying the pool under the stars!

Right next to the pool, you’ve got the Poolside Restaurant. If there’s anything that could pull you away from the pool, it’s the food and poolside drinks here (LOL)!!! They have got all kinds of delicious foods and drinks on the menu. I will talk about it soon 🙂

Anything from fresh salads and fruit cups to delicious sandwiches and wraps! I love how they get most of their ingredients from local farmers. This is why I think everything tastes so good here (besides the great chef).

Matt and I loved the “open-air” concept of the restaurant. The restaurant is the perfect blend of relaxation, luxury, and just a lovely spot to eat, drink and relax while surrounded by the untamed beauty that Sedona is known for.

Rooftop Deck with 360-Degree View, Fire Pit, and Daybed

There are several custom touches throughout the room. However, in my opinion, the private terrace rooftop built on cubed Atriums completes everything that you could possibly dream about having from these rooms!

When we first stepped into the rooftop deck, the panorama of Sedona’s iconic red rocks truly took our breath away!!!

You can watch the sky full of bright stars at nighttime or enjoy the breathtaking backdrop during the sunrise or sunset while relaxing on the daybed!

The experience is something that I cannot even find the right words to describe! LOL

Dinning at Ambiente Sedona| Forty1

Since Ambiente Hotel is fully committed to sustainability and eco-friendliness, Forty 1 takes a farm-to-table approach to its menu.

The dining area, with its floor-to-ceiling windows, has a breathtaking panorama of the surrounding red rocks. The staff are so kind and knowledgeable about everything on the menu!

We met the Ambienet Hotel Director of Food & Beverage (Heiner Zacher). He moved from Europe to Sedona, with his family. He was so kind, full of knowledge about food, wine and simply had a great attitude.

If you dine at this lovely restaurant, ask for him. He will help you with anything you need. Not just on the menu, but with any other questions about the resort.

It offers an incredible menu for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and desserts! Anything from the delicious seasonal soup to incredible cheese boards, fresh salads, Beelers Bone-In Pork Chop, Seared Scallops, Prime Filet, Salmon, Chicken Breast and so much more!!

Forty1 also offers amazing dishes for vegetarian and vegan guests! What we loved so much about their restaurant was, they source their ingredients locally, prioritizing organic produce, for the freshness and wholesomeness of each dish, while supporting local farmers and promoting sustainable food practices.

Drinks at Forty 1 are just as AMAZING as their food. The great wine list features a delightful assortment of Arizona’s award-winning wines and so many other wonderful wine regions of Italy and France.

I’m such a wine lover and truly enjoyed their red wine offerings! Matt is more into “cocktails”, and he also enjoyed everything that he ordered!

But it’s not just the food or the views that make Forty 1 the perfect place to dine, it’s the warm, inviting service that truly sets it apart.

As I mentioned above, the staff at Forty 1 are not just servers. In my opinion, they are culinary guides, ready to take you on an exploration of Sedona’s local cuisine, telling stories of each dish’s origin and the local traditions that inspired them. We loved every single dish that we ordered (breakfast, lunch, and dinner).

Chapel of the Holy Cross: This unique church is built right into the red rocks and offers magnificent views of the surrounding landscape. A visit to the Chapel provides more than just an architectural feast. It is a spiritual journey. The serene ambiance inside the chapel amplifies the natural majesty outside, offering a tranquil space for reflection, meditation, or prayer.

Explore Sedona’s Vortex Sites: Sedona is famous for its vortex sites, areas of concentrated energy that are perfect for meditation, yoga, or simply reflecting on the natural beauty around you. Some of the well-known vortexes include Bell Rock, Boynton Canyon, and Airport Mesa.

Matt and I had such an amazing weekend at this beautiful landscape hotel! Everything from the beginning of our stay to the end was exceptional! From our room to the delicious meals and the dining experience, spa, pool, rooftop deck… and obviously, the views of the red rocks were incredible!

The Ambiente Sedona Hotel is not just a place to stay, but a unique destination in itself. As I mentioned earlier, the combination of outstanding service, luxurious amenities, adventure opportunities, and respect for the environment makes it an incredible choice for travelers looking for a memorable stay.
