Prepare Your Living Room

If you want your living room to look its best for Christmas, take some time to prepare it in advance. I personally don’t enjoy this part (LOL)!!! Matt always helps me to rearrange the furniture in the living room. We usually like to place our Christmas tree right in the middle of the living room, in front of the fireplace.

If you have a big or small space, you always have to start by decluttering the space and getting rid of anything that doesn’t belong. This will help make the room feel more spacious and inviting. Next, give the room a good deep clean. This will help make it look its best and get rid of any dust or dirt that has built up over time.

Finally, start adding some festive touches to the space. This could include adding new Christmas decorations like the staircase banister garlands or adding some holiday-themed throw pillows or blankets and so much more! I will be explaining each step in this post!

Choose A Glam Christmas Tree

Artificial or Real

When it comes to choosing a glamorous Christmas tree, you have two main options: An artificial Christmas tree or the real one. Artificial trees have come a long way in recent years and can now convincingly mimic the look of a real tree.

Real trees are, of course, natural and eco-friendly, but they can be more difficult to care for and may not last as long as an artificial tree. So, which should you choose?

Here are some things to consider:

  •  If you want a tree that looks exactly like a real one and is “less messy”, then go for an artificial tree. There are some incredible options on the market now that I honestly like even more than the real Christmas trees!
  •  If you want a more sustainable option, go for a real tree. Just be sure to choose one that is ethically sourced and remember to recycle it when you’re done.
  • If ease of care is your main concern, an artificial tree is probably the better choice. They don’t need any water or feeding and can be reused year after year with minimal effort.

I’m not the best when it comes down to taking care of the plants! That is why I always prefer artificial trees! (LOL)!!!

Our White Christmas Tree

This white Christmas tree is from Balsam Hill. It is called the Denali white tree“. It is absolutely gorgeous! You can see the beauty of this elegant tree in the pictures; however, I honestly think it looks even more beautiful in person!!!

This tree puts on the most magical twinkly light show with the most beautiful color combinations. It looks breathtaking (especially at nighttime). I’m so in love with it! No matter which option you choose (artificial tree or real tree), there are plenty of ways to make your Christmas tree look glamorous!

White Christmas Tree or a Flocked Christmas Tree?

If you want to style a “glamourous Christmas tree”, I think you need to consider either a flocked Christmas tree or a white Christmas tree. You can certainly style a traditional green tree or a simple tree just as glamorous! However, white Christmas trees and flocked trees take your design to the next level!

When it comes to Christmas trees, white is always in style. A white Christmas tree can symbolize snow, purity, and peace. It can also be a chic and modern way to decorate your home for the holidays.

White trees are also perfect for a classic look or if you want to add your decorations and personalize your tree. Plus, they’re easy to find and relatively inexpensive.

If you’re looking for some inspiration on how to decorate a white Christmas tree, here are some ideas:

  • Use floral picks and garlands to give your tree a touch of color and elegance.
  • Wrap the tree in string lights for a sparkling effect.
  • Decorate with feathers for a glamorous look.
  • Add some glitz and glam with sequined ornaments.
  • Use all-white ornaments for a classic look.

Flocked Christmas Trees

As much as I love white Christmas trees, I love and enjoy decorating flocked trees. Flocked Christmas trees add a touch of glamour to any holiday décor and make a statement in any room. Here are some of my favorite flocked Christmas tree ideas:

  • For a festive and glamorous look, try adding some flowers to your flocked tree. You can use real or artificial flowers, depending on your preference.
  • Another great way to add some glam to your flocked Christmas tree is by adding feathers. You can find feathers at your local craft store or online.
  • If you want to make a statement, try adding some glitter or sequins to your flocked tree. This will definitely catch the eye of anyone who sees it!
  • If you want a more natural look, try adding some pinecones or other nature-inspired decorations to your flocked tree.

Overall, if you want a more unique look for your tree, then a flocked tree is the way to go. Flocked trees are covered in a layer of “snow”, which can give your home a festive and wintery feel.

Get a Pre-Lit Tree That Is Easy to Set Up

There is nothing worse than spending hours struggling to set up your Christmas tree, only to find that the lights don’t work. Save yourself the headache with a pre-lit tree that is easy to set up. You’ll be able to enjoy your holiday decorating much more when you don’t have to worry about tangled lights or wonky branches.

Here are a few tips to help you choose the right pre-lit tree:

  • Look for a tree that comes with easy-to-follow instructions. You shouldn’t have to be a rocket scientist to figure out how to set up your tree.
  • Make sure the tree is made of high-quality materials. You don’t want it falling apart as you’re putting it together.
  • Choose a size that will fit comfortably in your space. There’s nothing worse than getting a tree that’s too big or too small for your room.
  • Pay attention to the type of lights used on the tree. Some trees come with energy-saving LED lights, which can save you money in the long run.
  • Ask around for recommendations from friends or family members who have pre-lit trees. They may have some great suggestions that you didn’t think of!

Glam Christmas Tree Ideas

#1: Decide on Color Scheme and Glam Theme

When it comes to deciding on a color scheme and glam theme for your Christmas tree, there are endless possibilities. To help you narrow down your options, consider what colors and styles will best suit your home’s décor.

If you want your tree to truly stand out, opt for an unconventional color scheme such as all-white or all-black. You can also get creative with your ornaments and use non-traditional items such as sequined balls or beaded garlands. Whatever you choose, make sure it reflects your style so that your tree is uniquely yours.

#2: Choose the Right Flowers for Your Glam Christmas Tree

When it comes to choosing the right flowers for your glam Christmas tree, there are a few things you need to keep in mind. First, consider the overall color scheme of your tree. If you want a more traditional look, opt for red and green flowers. If you’re going for a more modern vibe this holiday season, try white or cream-colored blooms.

Next, think about the size of the flowers you’ll be using. You don’t want them to overpower the tree, so stick with smaller blooms like baby’s breath or miniature roses.

Finally, make sure the flowers you choose are in season. Nothing ruins a beautiful Christmas tree like wilted or dead flowers! Some good options for winter-blooming flowers include poinsettias, amaryllis, and holly.

#3: Color-Coordinated Ornaments for a Cohesive Look

If you want your Christmas tree to have a cohesive look, consider color-coordinating your ornaments. You can do this by picking a color scheme and sticking to it throughout the tree.

For example, you could use all red and green decorations, or all blue and silver decorations. This will give your tree a polished look that is sure to impress your guests.

To make things even easier, you can purchase pre-coordinated ornament sets that come with everything you need to create a beautiful tree.

This is a great option if you’re not sure how to mix and match different colors and styles of Ornaments. Whatever route you decide to go, make sure to have fun with it and enjoy creating a festive tree that represents your style.

#4: Add Feathers for a “Touch of Glam”

Feathers are integral in enhancing the aesthetic value of your glamorous Christmas tree. If you want to add a touch of glam to your Christmas tree, consider adding some feathers! You can find feathers in all sorts of colors, so you can find some that will match your tree.

Just make sure to use them sparingly so your tree doesn’t end up looking too “bird-like”. I think feathers work perfectly for any color theme. However, they work best when choosing gold Christmas tree decorations, metallic colors, classic red, and shiny metallic decor.

#5: Incorporate Ribbon

If you’re looking for a unique and stylish way to decorate your Christmas tree, consider using ribbon. I absolutely LOVE styling our Christmas tree with ribbons. I usually use velvet or silk ribbons to style our tree. However, there are many different types of ribbons that can be used in various ways.

Here are some ideas to get you started:

  • Coordinate your ribbons colors with your ornaments and other colors that you are styling your tree with!
  • I chose a light pink ribbon since my ornaments and flowers are all light pink.
  • Create unique geometric designs with ribbons that flow together elegantly.
  • Depending on your main color and the color of your ornaments, you can use bright-colored ribbons as the focal point of the tree. Whichever color you choose, make sure it is prominent and eye-catching on top of the tree.
  • Add delicate sheer layers of silk ribbon to create an ethereal effect.

Last year, I had a lot more ribbons on our trees. However, this year, I decided to use fewer ribbons and mostly focus on beautiful flowers.

Tip #6: Choose an Elegant Tree Skirt or Tree Collar

If you’re looking for a beautiful and elegant way to decorate your Christmas tree, consider choosing a tree skirt or tree collar. Not only are they eye-catching, but they also add extra comfort and safety to the area around the tree. There are many different styles of skirts and collars available, so it’s easy to find one that fits your lifestyle and personality.

Some things to keep in mind when selecting a skirt for your tree include:

  • The size of the skirt should be adequate enough, so underside of the tree barley covers it.
  • The fabric should be soft yet sturdy enough so that it won’t fray or tear after being used often over time.
  • Choose a color that will complement both your home décor and Christmas theme!
  • If you like to choose a tree collar instead of the skirt, make sure the collar’s length and width are right for your tree.

Tip #7: Decide on Tree Topper

Personally, I’m not a huge fan of Christmas tree toppers. I try to come up with different ideas to decorate the top of our Christmas tree.

For example, this year, I tried to use a few white feathers on top of our tree. This is how I decorated our tree without using the actual “tree topper”. However, if you like tree toppers, there are so many great options in the market.

  • Get a Tree Topper that is the right size for your tree.
  • Secure the Tree Topper in place using the tree branches, string, or a ribbon.
  • If you would like to add more details to your tree topper, you can use a glue gun.

Tip #8: Place a Few Christmas Gift Boxes Under the Tree

I love placing elegant gift boxes under my tree. This is one of my favorite ways to complete the decoration of my tree! However, this year at the time I shot these pictures, I had not yet completed the Christmas boxes. You can take a look at my Christmas gift boxes from last year.

If you prefer to mix and match Christmas gift boxes, you can get some cute ideas here or here. This will add an extra touch of elegance and class to your Christmas celebration.

Tip #9: Add Your Personal Style

Finally, add your personal style to your Christmas tree and decorations. By saying “personal style”, I simply mean adding colors, textures, patterns, or anything else that your friends and family know about you! For example, I love incorporating soft and bright colors when decorating.

I usually stay away from darker colors (like dark brown, black or dark gray). I also love animal prints, fruit prints, stripes, and checkered patterns.

Therefore, most of my friends and family can “predict” how I will be decorating my Christmas trees, Thanksgiving tables, etc… This is exactly what I mean by adding your personal style to your decorations.
