The Luggage and Travel Cases I’m Packing This Fall

I’ve been replacing my travel stuff piece by piece this year, and hunting for the best weekender bag for travel is what started all of it. The Away weekender in olive green is where I landed. It has the sleeve that slides over a suitcase handle, which sounds like a small thing until you’re moving fast through an airport with your hands full.

Olive also hides scuffs better than black does, which I did not expect going in. For the suitcase itself, the Beis medium check in roller in maple is the size I use most. Medium holds a week of clothes without me sitting on it to close it.

There’s a large in the same maple if you pack heavy, and since they match, checking two looks like a set instead of whatever was in the closet. If you want a hard shell, the Samsonite Outline Pro in stone grey is the sturdier pick, and grey hides dirt in a way lighter colors do not.

The Samsonite Silhouette 18 inch carry on in silver is what I would take for a short trip. Eighteen inches fits the overhead bin on almost every airline, and silver is the classic look that does not really go out. The Etoile Collective large twin travel case in espresso is my favorite thing here. It opens into two sides so makeup and skincare stay separate, and it does not look like a toiletry bag sitting out on a hotel counter.

The Charlotte Tilbury velvet organizer is the smaller, lower commitment version of that same idea, and it’s the one I actually throw in a tote for a weekend. The Heaven Mayhem book box in brown is for jewelry. It looks like a book, so it lives on a nightstand at home and travels without announcing what’s inside.

The Lexxola Jetsetter case in cherry is for sunglasses. It’s a small thing to spend money on, but I have cracked enough pairs loose in a bag to know it pays for itself.
