56 Instagrammable Places in Los Angeles and Across Southern California for Stunning Photos
I put together some of the most Instagrammable places in Los Angeles for anyone planning a visit, or just saving ideas. Since we live in Arizona, LA has always been one of the places we love to visit whenever we get the chance. Before kids, I used to be there even more, and now we do a mix of different trips, but LA is still such an easy, familiar getaway, especially when we want a quick break or a little escape from the heat.

I’ve been to many of these spots over the years, and some of them are still on my list for future trips. So I thought I’d put everything together and share 56 Instagrammable places in Los Angeles that are so photo-worthy.

Whether you’re heading there soon or just like having ideas saved for when the timing is right, this is one of those posts you’ll want to keep.

1. Santa Monica Beach
I always end up back at Santa Monica Beach because it looks beautiful every single time. The beach is wide, the palm trees are perfectly spaced, and the light is almost always good, even when you’re not planning on taking photos. I love that nothing feels cluttered in the background, so everything looks clean and bright. It’s one of those places where you don’t even try, and your photos still come out looking really good.
2. Santa Monica Pier
I know it’s touristy, but I still love the Santa Monica Pier. There’s something about the Ferris wheel, the ocean, and all that movement behind you that just makes photos feel fun. Even when it’s crowded, the photos don’t feel messy; they feel alive. Especially at sunset, when everything gets warm and glowy, it honestly never disappoints.
3. Venice Beach Boardwalk
Venice Beach Boardwalk is not polished at all, and that’s exactly why I like it. It’s loud, colorful, a little chaotic, and very real. Skaters, murals, random moments happening around you. Photos here don’t feel staged; they feel cool without trying too hard, which is very Venice.
4. El Matador State Beach
El Matador is one of those places where you look at your photos later and still can’t believe it’s real. The rocks, the cliffs, the ocean, it’s dramatic without trying. Even if you’re not in the mood to take photos, you’ll end up taking them anyway because everything looks unreal.
5. Malibu Pier
Malibu Pier feels quiet and calm compared to other spots. The wood pier, the ocean, and the soft light make everything feel effortless. I like it when photos don’t feel forced, and this is one of those places where they never do.
6. Malibu Bluffs Park
Malibu Bluffs Park is so underrated. You’re up above the ocean, and that alone makes photos look more dramatic. The views are wide and clean, and everything just feels elevated. It gives that coastal, expensive look without doing anything special.
7. Malibu Lagoon State Beach
Malibu Lagoon is one of those places I go when I want things to feel calm. The reflections in the water, especially around sunset, make photos look really soft and natural. It’s not bold or dramatic, it’s just quietly beautiful.
8. Point Dume
Point Dume always makes me stop for a second. The views go on forever, and everything feels so big and open. Photos here don’t need much; the background does all the work. It’s one of my favorite spots when I want something that feels truly California.
9. Manhattan Beach Pier
Manhattan Beach Pier feels very clean and polished, which is why photos always look good here. The pier stretching into the ocean creates such a nice line in photos. It’s classic, simple, and never feels dated.
10. Hermosa Beach Pier
Hermosa Beach Pier feels more playful and fun. The energy is lighter, and photos don’t feel serious at all. It’s perfect for casual, happy beach photos that feel natural and relaxed.

16. Griffith Observatory
Griffith Observatory is one of those places where photos almost feel unfair because the view does everything for you. You get the city, the hills, the sky, and sometimes even the Hollywood Sign all in one shot. It doesn’t matter if you’re dressed up or totally casual; the background makes everything look elevated. Especially at sunset or at night when the city lights come on, it just hits every time.
17. Hollywood Sign
The Hollywood Sign is Instagrammable because it’s literally the symbol of LA. You don’t even need a close-up. Seeing it in the distance already makes the photo. It works best when it’s casually in the background, like you just happened to catch it. Simple, iconic, and instantly recognizable.
18. Hollywood Walk of Fame
The Walk of Fame is fun because it feels very old-school Hollywood. The stars, the sidewalks, the chaos, it all feels nostalgic. Photos here don’t feel polished, but they feel very “Hollywood.” It’s one of those places that doesn’t need explaining when you post it.
19. Hollywood Boulevard

If you end up visiting any of these spots, save them, screenshot them, or come back to this list when you’re planning. And if you have a favorite Instagrammable place in LA that I didn’t include, I’d love to hear about it. I’m always looking for an excuse to add another stop to our next trip.
Love,
Sherry XOXO
