The Best Cashmere Sweaters for Fall at Every Price
I am a cashmere person year round, and this is the time of year I actually start pulling those sweaters back out of storage. I love that you can spend fifty dollars or three hundred and still end up with something you reach for constantly, so I put this edit together in order of price.

Merino is a good in between weight for early September, and I like a mock neck under a blazer because it gives you a clean line at the collar. I wear oversized crewnecks half tucked into high waisted trousers, and that little tuck is what keeps the whole thing from reading sloppy.
The J.Crew Perfect Cashmere Crewneck at $148 is the classic of the group, and it holds its shape better than almost anything else in my closet, which matters when you wear something this often. My favorite for layering is the Anthropologie Juliet Cashmere Cardigan at $158, because I wear cardigans open over a silk tank through all of fall and then buttoned up on their own once it actually gets cold.
The Vince Weekend V-Neck Cashmere Sweater in camel is the splurge here at $325. Camel is the color I always come back to, and a V neck in that shade sits so nicely over a white button up shirt with the collar out. If you are building a sweater drawer slowly, I would start with one neutral crewneck and one cardigan and go from there. Cashmere is one of the few things I never regret spending on, because a good sweater stays in rotation for years instead of one season.
